SR.FRONT END/UI DEVELOPER

Responsibilities and Oversight:
 We seek an experienced Front-End/UI Developer to collaborate in the delivery and enhancement of our portfolio of websites and mobile tools.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for blending the vision of our extraordinarily creative design team with the functionality supplied by our superb development team to create fantastic looking, highly usable, standards compliant, cross-platform web and mobile experiences.
 
 
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a mix of technical savvy, an eye for design and superb communication skills.
 
Essential requirements

• Absolute mastery of HTML and CSS, with a portfolio to back this up.
• Great raw JavaScript skills, as well as knowledge of jQuery or other comparable frameworks.
• Good knowledge of Photoshop.
• Experience with templating / theming systems – such as Drupal and WordPress -- and confidence working with code.
• Nit-picking attention to detail and an unflinching commitment to quality and usability.
• Great communication skills and a high comfort level with a collaborative work process and collegial working environment. This position requires you to work closely with designers, developers, producers and project managers – a wide range of personalities and roles and you’ll need to gel with all of them.
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment; a positive and proactive attitude.
• Superb organizational and time management skills.   Job requires working on multiple concurrent projects.
• A love of the medium.
• 5+ years of professional web experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.

 

Desirable skills

• Experience building mobile web applications and/or native Android or iPhone apps.
• Great Flash skills, including a good knowledge of ActionScript.
• Backend development experience – php, .NET or something else.

 
 
Location
This position is based in our Portland, OR office.
 
 
Term
The position is available for 18 months.  Conversion to a regular position beyond the term is a possibility, subject to performance and funding.
