Job Summary:
We are looking for a transaction tax savvy manager with VAT domain expertise to drive the development of a major new service offering that will be a foundation for company growth. We want someone who wants to make a difference where tax happens - in the leading transaction tax management solution.
The Manager of our international tax product has primary responsibility for all VAT related outbound product management activities and is considered a primary subject matter expert. Inbound product management activities include leveraging tax expertise to draft requirements and articulate complex tax issues to tax and non-tax professionals.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
  1. Define and drive VAT strategy and roadmap by analyzing and understanding market and customer needs for VAT within the context of their business drivers and as reflective of the overall market opportunity.
  2. Function as the go-to "Subject Matter Expert" (SME of VAT) for sales, marketing/communications, services, support and clients by maintaining competitive intelligence and win/loss analysis, resulting in superior product capabilities as demonstrated by sales leadership with wins,
  3. Creation of Marketing Requirements Document (MRD), Product Requirements Document (MRD) for VAT functionality across the Sabrix Application Suite of software solutions, including our hosted Managed Tax Service.
  4. Work with engineering during product development, to ensure product quality standards and delivery milestones are met.
  5. Develop messaging and positioning of VAT legal trends and product functionality for sales, services and customer support,
  6. Develop sales tools to support product positioning, field sales success and revenue goals through presentations, product datasheets, whitepapers, webinars etc.
  7. Provide training to internal constituencies - sales, services, training -- on all product capabilities and differentiators.
  8. Analyze competition, market trends, and tax laws and regulations to develop differentiation to drive increased revenues.
  9. Conduct market research and competitive analysis for strategic expansion of VAT product functionality and tax content.
  10. This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites (25%).

Qualifications
Minimum Specialized Knowledge and Work Experience Required:
  • Familiar with tax laws governing VAT and Indirect Tax. Ability to provide recommendations on a wide variety of international VAT Issues and communicate them in an understandable manner to non-tax professionals.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of principle European Union VAT legislation, and in-depth application in at least one Member State.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify client specific tax issues, interpret tax laws, translate tax requirements into business processes, and develop marketing requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, taxation or related field or equivalent experience.
  • A master's degree and/or professional certification preferred. An advanced degree in tax or law or business is highly desirable.
  • 4 years of progressive international tax experience from within a Big 4 firm, indirect tax department of a large multinational corporation, international tax practice of a professional services firm and/or law firm.
  • Outbound (Product Marketing) experience must include a track record of excellent communication in all marketing materials (Presentation creation/messaging, presentations to field, product data sheets, sales tools, etc.).
Desired Knowledge and skills:
  • The successful candidate will ideally be able to manage cross-functionally and demonstrate the ability to engage with:
    • Clients and prospects and VAT community as domain expert to help determine the strategic direction for VAT products and services, gather client and prospect requirements and translate into specifications for development.
    • Marketing Communications as product and market expert for creation of clear positioning and messaging materials, marketing collateral, sales support tools, and go-to-market strategy and execution;
    • Professional Services to provide field support as VAT domain expert for critical engagements;
    • Engineering to articulate and document product requirements, deliver on-time releases and drive product roadmap;
    • Tax Research, Tax Operations, and Product Marketing to leverage domain expertise on tax and associated requirements;
  • Inbound (Product Management) experience writing product requirements, interfacing with engineering and coordinating product launch. Experience providing professional services or bringing product releases to market is a big plus.
  • Experience with workflow oriented enterprise applications for business process modeling, reporting, data warehousing, and/or web portals is highly desired. Financial enterprise experience in A/P, A/R, G/L experience from SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or other best-of-breed financial software solution a plus.
  • Experience with product/project management, business process management, experience driving agile product teams or a background in business centric Software-as-a-Service applications or enterprise applications software a big plus.
