Territory Manager- Northwest (WA,OR,ID,AK)

Benchmade is looking for a Territory Manager for the Northwest that understands the importance and nuances of our multi-channel distribution strategy and how to manage a team to meet sales goals and grow Benchmade's market share within those channels. The ideal candidate will bring with them years of experience building relationships at retail, strong communication skills and ability to grow in the job. The territory manager is required to visit retailers driving world class account management initiatives conveying a positive attitude and being the face of Benchmade management at retail.

Responsibilities
    Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and implement sales and marketing strategy to grow Benchmade market shares, drive sell through and create mutual profitability for retailers within the territory.
  • Forecast and deliver on annual and quarterly revenue goals for your team and Benchmade's retailers.
  • Engage in meaningful partnerships with top accounts and conduct regular business reviews with account leadership and provide adequate support from your team in the market.
  • Create more Premium Plus retail locations and find new distribution that is incremental and not eroding current retail.
  • Manage schedule for sales and event reps within your territory to maximize ROI and assist in moving your doors from Authorized to Premium and Premium to Premium Plus.
  • Coordinate effort with designated Inside Sales Rep to ensure 100% coverage for retail in your territory.
  • Ensure your team delivers in best-in-class service, obsesses over retailer training, consistently executes merchandising priorities and shows up to important retail promotional events.
  • Work closely with Retail Marketing Manager to ensure consistency on the retail floor and proof in performance of Benchmade supported marketing efforts with your retailers.
  • Collaborate with other Territory Managers to build and drive programs that perform at retail, share best practices, and participate in weekly sales calls.
  • Prepare, manage, and execute territory budgets for travel, CoOp, fixture, and other operating expenses.
  • Communicate through CRM and direct feedback to key leaders what is happening in your territory with sell through, competition, and other market forces. Ensure high efficiency and 100% adoption of CRM across your team.
  • Build culture of excellence and strong reputation with retailers by being transparent, showing up at retail, and driving your team to do the same.
  • Act like a manager by hiring, training, coaching and assessing performance of your territory sales team and retail partners.
  • Attend Sales meeting, trade shows and important territory events as deemed necessary by the Director of Specialty and Field sales and your Premium Plus retails.
  • Travel throughout territory to visit retailers and affect change on the retail floor.
  • Comfortable working across many channels from Tactical Law Enforcement and Military to hardcore hunt and outdoor accounts. You have an understanding that Benchmade is not a single customer brand and you are comfortable selling across all channels of business.

Successful Candidate Traits

  • Bachelor's degree in business or similar field.
  • 5+ years of in territory sales rep experience including working directly with large national/regional retailers.
  • Leadership experience managing sales team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good driving record and current license.
  • Experience with MS office products, CRM reporting and input.
Qualifications
  • Able to lift 100 pounds into back of a truck (engraving machine).
  • Up to 50% travel time either in territory or at requested tradeshows/meetings.
  • Weekend and weeknight schedule flexibility.
  • Must reside centrally in territory.
