About Our Transportation Team

HDR's Oregon Transportation team is in search of a Transportation Engineer to join our growing practice and word-class engineering roadway design expertise. Our transportation projects include highway, local roadway, large urban freeway, ADA ramp improvement program, bike/ped, transit, and BRT corridors projects.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Work as a key member of a highway/roadway design team for moderate to large projects.
  • Prepare or oversee the following roadway/highway design work using local or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and ADA ramp design.
  • Prepare or oversee the following roadway/highway design work using local or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and ADA ramp design.
  • Prepare the following elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications and estimates: roadway sections, alignment/right-of-way plans, temporary erosion control plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, traffic control plans.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • PE
  • 4+ years design experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, InRoads/MicroStation, Civil3D/AutoCAD, and GEOPAK, or other design software as appropriate
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
