Job Title: Float Caregiver

Reports To: RCC/Executive Director

FLSA: Hourly, Part-Time

$23 an hour plus $2 an hour for mileage

The primary purpose of this position is to provide float support in different Avamere Communities buildings for each resident with routine daily health services.

Care for residents and assist in updating each resident's service plan

* Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating

* Assist with the Life Enrichment Program and encourage residents to participate in activities

* Assist in providing a safe environment for residents

* Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, calm, and joy

* Document and communicate resident changes and complete all reports in a timely manner

* Maintain confidentiality of all resident care in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

* Complete on-going training as assigned

* Complete other duties as assigned

Education

* Must be at least 18 years old

* High-School diploma or equivalent

* Must have or obtain (within 30-days of employment) First Aid & CPR Certification

* Must obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment

Experience

* Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with elders

* Must have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others

* Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

* Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, calm, and joy

* Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination

* Walking/standing for extended periods of time.

* Physical, emotional and mental ability to work with a variety of residents with varying health conditions.

* Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects.

* Physically able to participate in community meetings.

* Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.

* Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.

* Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.

* Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, COVID-19 and the HIV and Hepatitis B viruses.

* May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
