Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Civil Construction Inspector 2, we'll count on you to:

• Become familiar with the contract documents for the projects assigned. These documents include plans and specifications, soils reports, quality assurance requirements, etc.
• Observe construction activities as they progress for civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines
• Take measurements and keep detailed records for materials delivered and installed on the construction site.
• Record observations of field activities in reports in prescribed formats. Reports need to be submitted on a daily basis.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, in-place soil compaction testing, etc.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

*High School diploma or equivalent
*3 years' experience in civil construction
*Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
*Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
*An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ODOT specifications and procedures
• Roadway, bridge and wastewater treatment experience
• Technical school or Associate degree
• Relevant Industry Certifications
• Ability to interpret construction schedules
• Degrees in engineering, architecture, construction management a plus.
• Certifications a plus
